Yay for geeky craft projects!

So, I have never owned a Rubik's Cube before but I picked one up in the dollar store a few days ago. Unsurprisingly, the stickers promptly started to fall off.

And while I could have conceivably just superglued them back on or marked the squares with dabs of paint or some other ghetto but effective solution... I decided to peel off all the stickers and customize it into a Nintendo-related thing. Because I'm just that cool. *cough*

Anyways, I finished scraping/peeling off the old stickers, cleaning it, designing the new stickers, printing them, and cutting out/supergluing them onto the thing... The process was far from perfect and I took off some of the ink here and there, but I think overall it turned out pretty well:

Next up... 2-3 layers of nail polish! Why? To a) keep the ink from smudging and protect the stickers and b) because shiny makes me happy.

first post!

Since I am entirely too lazy to redo my website right now... I am totally starting a blog to post up whatever I may be working on art-wise. Maybe I'll throw some gaming stuff out there while I'm at it... who knows.

Vector! I'm still trying to get my bearings in Illustrator, but I'm fairly happy with how this turned out. It's an homage to my favorite piece of Zelda character art ever

Here's the piece that served as the inspiration...

I'm working on some other pieces, the main one being a Gears of War digital painting... Not my style at all, but we'll see how it turns on.

I know, I know, it's all game fanart... I swear, I'm doing some original stuff too! I'm just too lazy to scan it or not really keen on showing it to people, haha.
